In the end a deserved win for KRFC although the score line flattered them slightly. With the game poised at 4-2 it was looking like anyones game and could have swung back in our favour but credit where it is due and over the two games the score is now 7-7 so two very evenly matched teams. Lots of positives to take from this encounter – we moved the ball calmly passing backwards and to the side a lot more, letting the ball do more of the work. We attacked the opposition more, created chances and scored goals, something we couldn’t manage before Christmas. If we keep up that effort the results will come and I look forward to the next game to see a continued improvement.
James Heylar – Did reasonably well but will be disappointed to drop an easy one at the end
Tommy K - Grew in confidence as the match went on, worked hard till the end.
Dino – Strong performance, unlucky to be caught on the break by an unusually quick player considering the ground was so sticky.
James W – Another strong performance but musnt let head drop as it affects others around him
Peter Gibson – Star Man – Strong, tackled hard and distributed well – an excellent performance
Shannon – Struggled with awful conditions under foot for running with the ball and his effectiveness was reduced because of it. (subbed 75)
Simon Fowler – Won everything in the midfield and could have been on the scoresheet – one of his best displays
Lee Overy – Another who won all of his key battles and never stopped running, took his goal very calmly.
James Ford – Unfortunately there was little in the engine after a heavy nights drinking - will need to improve to keep place (subbed 25)
Todd Preece – Excellent performance and enjoyed the freedom of his new role up front – will look to build on this performance and garner and understanding with Danny up front. (subbed 76)
Danny Deal – Did very well and was always a threat – will feel he should have scored more than one but all round a good display.
Subs:
Charlie Burdett – linked up well after the earlier than expected inclusion and passed well and used a lot more composure on the ball than in previous games.
Stu M – Came on up front and worked extremely hard to try to make things happen.
John Grubb – Worked hard and made some inroads with the ball, a lovely individual turn and pass the highlight of a gutsy 20 minutes.
Unused:
Steve Peacock, Lee Noble
