A real battle of a game this one that both sides could have easily forced the result but it was the inner strength and desire from Cazbar FC which finally won through. Every man battled and every man played his part in a real classic match. The result of hard work at goals and over the last two matches finally bearing fruit.
James Heylar – first class one on one save when the defence stopped on an offside which kept the momentum in our favour. Deserved a clean sheet.
Tommy K (STAR MAN) – first to every challenge, battled and never gave up, inspirational attitude and wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of winning this week. Excellent display.
Lee Noble - Scored from a free kick and imperious in defence on his full debut. Will feel aggrieved at giving away the penalty and will need to improve fitness but a very strong debut.
James Wilder – Solid and calm display, never missed a beat and was the controlling influence at the heart of the defence.
Steve Peacock – Another good performance and kept his discipline more this week. Some lovely through balls towards the end of the first half (subbed 55)
Todd Preece – Great tackling and showed some of that flair we saw at the goals sessions. Tired towards the end but gave a lot in the first 45 to contribute to the lead.
Lee Overy – Another sterling display and never shirked the tackle. Fast becoming the signing of the summer as he continues to have a fantastic start to 2010. Capped performance with a well taken goal.
Davin Bryce – Forraged down the right flank and made some great tackles in midfield. Converted to a change of role second half when asked to and handled himself well.
John Grubb – Another player who is really making the most of his opportunities in 2010 and progressing every week. Was always involved and engaged in play both in attack and defence. (Subbed 70)
James Ford – Found opportunities limited for himself but I was impressed with his touch and guile. Needs to keep his confidence high as one goal will unlock the door for him. (subbed 55)
James Davis – Threw himself around and had a huge influence on the game. Will be disappointed not to have been among the scorers and should be hungry for his next encounter.
Subs:
Shannon – toughest I have witnessed him play and showed the heart and desire that has deserted in the more swampier matches we have had recently. Made the opposition defence work extremely hard in the last twenty minutes and never stopped running.
Luke Gachet – Best ever performance for the Cazbar, showed cool composure and real ability on the ball. Worked hard and gave it his all.
Charlie Burdett – Asked to do a job out of position at right back and tried hard but settled more when switched to a more attacking role, looked a little tired after being ill.
In attendance – Dino Noble, Darren Walsh
