Match Report vs Worcester Park Town
HT 1-1 FT 2-2
James Heylar - Outstanding performance, commanding in the air and made two or three point plank saves, best showing so far for Cazbar FC
Tom Kislingbury - Great running and really maturing as a defender, positional and decision making is improving all the time, some great headers used the line well from throw ins.
Ben Lewis - First goal for Cazbar FC and a real corker from the edge of the box, defended resolutely and kept the ball moving down the channels well.
Ian Cawley - Solid performance, never shied away from the tackle and imposed himself well on the opposition forward line
Ollie Fairbanks - Marshalled the defence excellently and held the line allowing the midfield the support the needed to create chances, tackling immense as usual – one of his best performances
Todd Preece - Many may overlook his contribution but he was the lynchpin of the midfield, picking up all the scraps and distributing excellently, best performance for Cazbar FC
Simon Fowler - Another one whose contribution was immense, really looked like he was enjoying his football and livened up as the game went on, great movement and linked well passing the ball across the midfield
James Davis - Looked like there were a few cobwebs first half but gave 100 % commitment second half and was desperately unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions. Looked very accomplished up front and enjoyed the freedom that Todd and Simon were providing him.
Shannon Townsend -Superbly taken goal and some sublime through balls coupled with some dazzling dribbling down the wing led to one of the stand out performances of his Cazbar Career.
Charlie Burdett (sub 65) - Best Game for Cazbar by far, strong tackling, confident heading and great covering. Unlucky not to break free on goal after a ball was threaded through from midfield, showed up his younger opponents for speed and stamina.
Darren Walsh (sub 60) - Another one who put in his best performance so far. Given his chance as the lone striker he foraged for scraps and made his own space up front latching onto anything that was provided. Let fly with a terrific effort first half which narrowly missed the top corner
James Wilder (Sub 65) - Came on to inject some pace into a tiring midfield and unlocked the door a couple of times with through balls to Danny and James up front. Sweetly delivered corners added to a great substitute display, did everything asked of him.
Danny Deal - Played like a man possessed when he cam eon and looked like scoring with every touch. The defence couldn’t handle his movement and control and his attitude at being dropped to the bench was first class.
Steve Peacock, Carey Preece,Stuart Mitchinson all showed great spirit and were an important part of the support structure on the line. Every man played his part on and off the pitch and these three were no exception
What a performance, what a game – Cazbar FC unbeaten in 09! Points on the board at last! Now we build on this performance and show the rest of the league what we are really all about. We have just gone and drawn with arguably the strongest team in the league and showed real pride, passion and commitment. We looked like a team that wanted to win, that could win and that were not afraid of the opposition for the first time this season. The hard work isn’t over but we now have a platform to move on from – onwards and upwards!
