James Heylar – Outstanding saves first half and commanded his box throughout, never looked like conceeding a goal and thoroughly deserved clean sheet.
Tommy K – Best performance for Cazbar, gutsy, didnt shirk the challenges and used the throw in well.
Carey Preece (c) – At last a performance worthy of note – challenged well and survived a shaky opening to grow in stature as the game progressed, saved his place but more of the same required.
Dino Noble – partnership with Carey seems to be clicking again and looked dominating in the air this week, should take a lot of confidence into the next match.
Davin Bryce – workmanlike performance on hid full debut and didnt really put a foot wrong, unlucky to get injured second half, another victim to the hard ground, may need to be rested next week. (subbed 55 mins)
Shannon Townsend – will be disappointed in his shooting but another great assist and goal from a corner sealed a good all round effort.
Lee Overy – quiet game by his standards but commanded the midfield well and offered a good outlet to the wingers and forwards. Strong in the tackle and air again.
Simon Fowler – really committed performance and a vastly improved all round attitude. Simply unstoppable on the ball this week and his distribution was vastly imporved on previous weeks.
Stuart Mitchinson – didnt settle into the game first half but had some penetrating runs in the second which nearly reaped some rewards. Will look to improve his close control to compliment improvements made in tackling and heading. (subbed 65)
Daniel Deal – good 45 minutes and put in double the effort as he knew he was going early, must show the same commitment next time, unlucky not to get a shooting chance in the first half. (subbed 45)
James Davis – Strong, passionate and aggresive display from the scoring machine. Must stop letting his temper get the better of him however and control that passion and channel it to good use, admitted his shortcomings after the game and will learn from it and move on. Great rise for his goal, maintaining his scring record. Booked.
Subs:
Darren Walsh – great season debut, ran well and very unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions, will be pushing hard for a start based on that performance.
Ian Cawley – calm on the ball and defended well again, having a great season.
Jon Grubb – battled well and tried to get involved as much as possible down the right hand side. A good first outing.
Unused – James Platt
